Where It Started
WHY WE'RE CALLED VARSITY
Varsity Pizza isn't just a name. It's a mission statement. When Kevin Stephen opened the doors in Eatonville, he set out to build more than a place to grab a slice -- he wanted a restaurant that genuinely showed up for local schools, local teams, and local families.
The name comes straight from that goal. Varsity -- as in varsity sports, varsity teams, varsity spirit. From day one, the focus has been on giving local high school teams and students real opportunities, not just a discount on a pizza.
That mission hasn't changed since 2012. It's still why so many of our staff are local students, why teams hold their fundraisers and banquets here, and why "players eat free" isn't a slogan -- it's just how we do things.
"We want to do things for the community and be a nice place for families and where kids want to spend time."
