Our Story

BUILT FOR
THE TEAM

Family-owned since 2012, Varsity Pizza was built on a simple idea: good pizza, strong community, and a name that means something.

WHY WE'RE CALLED VARSITY

Varsity Pizza isn't just a name. It's a mission statement. When Kevin Stephen opened the doors in Eatonville, he set out to build more than a place to grab a slice -- he wanted a restaurant that genuinely showed up for local schools, local teams, and local families.

The name comes straight from that goal. Varsity -- as in varsity sports, varsity teams, varsity spirit. From day one, the focus has been on giving local high school teams and students real opportunities, not just a discount on a pizza.

That mission hasn't changed since 2012. It's still why so many of our staff are local students, why teams hold their fundraisers and banquets here, and why "players eat free" isn't a slogan -- it's just how we do things.

"We want to do things for the community and be a nice place for families and where kids want to spend time."

-- Kevin Stephen, Owner

🏆

Players Eat Free

Every youth sports team that books a banquet with us gets their players fed, on us.

MORE THAN A MENU

From sponsoring teams to hiring students, here's how we try to give back to the place that's given us so much.

Supporting Local Sports

The name says it all. We back varsity teams across the area, hosting banquets, fundraisers, and celebrations -- and when a youth team books with us, the players eat free.

Hiring Local Students

Many of the faces you'll see behind the counter are local high schoolers getting their first job. We've also kept on employees after graduation, giving them a place to build real work experience.

A Family Place

Whether it's a weeknight dinner, a birthday, or a team celebration, Varsity was built to be the kind of place families come back to -- and a place where kids genuinely want to hang out.

Scratch-Made Food

Fresh dough with no eggs or preservatives, house-made sauces, hand-cut veggies. We don't cut corners on the food because the people eating it are our neighbors.

School Fundraiser Partner

From the very beginning, local teams have used Varsity to fundraise for trips and seasons. We know how much that support matters to schools -- so we keep saying yes.

Locally Rooted

Three locations across Eatonville, McKenna, and Roy -- all locally owned, all part of the same community-first mission that started it all.

Locally Owned

A FAMILY
BUSINESS

Varsity Pizza is owned and operated by Kevin Stephen and his family, who have called Eatonville home for years. Before opening Varsity, Kevin spent his career in IT -- but he saw a community that needed a local pizza place that actually cared about it.

With kids in the local school district himself, the connection to schools and youth sports wasn't a marketing angle. It was personal. That's the same spirit that's carried Varsity Pizza for over a decade, through growth to McKenna and the addition of Brigade Burgers & Brews in Roy.
